What other names did your parents consider for you?
My father wanted me named after him, which would have made me Leonie, or Lee for short. Much better that what I was cursed with... but dad lost.
These are hard on the dignity of our furry feline friends, but they are also good for a laugh. Over and over...
"This Film Is Not Yet Rated" - A documentary about how the MPAA assigns film ratings.
Freedom!
Seeing as how I've been both (okay, a Library Technician, but close enough), I found these amusing.
And it's George Takei for the win!
It's wizardry meets Noir, and I have been enjoying it so far. Harry feels fairly real, despite the bigger than life magical powers. Like most Noir protagonists, he takes a beating and manages to limp through somehow. His heart's in the right place and he's determined to do the right thing... even when he has trouble figuring out how to make that happen.
I'm looking forward to seeing the series.
Edit: I've seen the first episode, and I liked it. Naturally there are differences from the books, some of which I was okay with (Bob, the car) and others that I wasn't so nuts about or didn't understand the reasoning (no Mister, no duster, no electrical problems). I will finish reading the series (at least, until I stop liking them... some series [Anita Blake] go all to heck as they go on).

"Writing
gives you the illusion of control, and then you realize it's just an
illusion, that people are going to bring their own stuff into it."
This is pretty much too cute for words. In a few seconds, a kitten falls adorably asleep. If you need a good dose of "awwwww", this is it!
